Child’s Pose by Călin Peter Netzer became the most successful Romanian film shown in Romania in the past 11 years, smashing audience and box office records, according to a press release published by Romanian news agency Mediafax.
Awarded the Golden Bear at the 2013 Berlin International Film Festival , Child’s Pose had 100,063 cinema viewers to the end of February this year, surpassing the Romanian viewing figures for films such as Nae Caranfil’s Filantropica and Cristian Mungiu’s 4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days.
The film by Călin Peter Netzer also smashed box office records, taking in 1,202,023.7 Lei - the biggest box office takings in Romania over the past 20 years.
